PayPal or bank transfer: which payout to choose
One arrives faster and starts lower, the other goes straight to your account. The difference is smaller than it looks, except in two situations.
Hustly pays out two ways: PayPal and SEPA bank transfer. Both send real money to somewhere you can spend it. The choice matters less than people expect, but there are two cases where it clearly goes one way.
PayPal
- From €5, the lowest threshold we offer.
- Usually with you within a day of approval.
- All you provide is the email address you already use.
SEPA bank transfer
- From €10.
- Moves on banking days, so a Friday evening request arrives the following week.
- Needs your IBAN and the account holder's name.
Why the minimums differ
A bank transfer costs us a fixed amount to send, regardless of size. Below €10 the fee eats an unreasonable share of it, and the wait would not be worth it for you either. PayPal is cheaper per transaction, so the threshold can sit lower.
The two cases where it is not a toss-up
If you want your first payout as early as possible, take PayPal: you reach €5 roughly twice as fast as €10, and it arrives sooner. If you do not have a PayPal account and do not want one, take the bank transfer. That is the entire reason it exists.
What counts towards the minimum
Only your available balance. Rewards still inside their hold period do not count, even though they are visible in your wallet. The app shows both numbers separately for exactly this reason.
Everything above, in one wallet
Games, surveys and cashback from shops you already use. Paid out to PayPal or your bank account.
